As we mentioned in the previous post, we had a sort of speed-dating session during the Mid-Year Day when the hotels had a chance to meet and greet with our students. The students in their turn had a chance to meet with the hotel managers and present themselves. Many of our students learn English, Math and Computers with the goal of one day working at a hotel along this stretch of the beach. The hotels always need qualified staff and preferably from the local village to minimize travel time for the staff and also because not all hotels have staff quarters where the staff can stay.

It was a true win-win situation, and both students and hotels were more than happy after this session! It shows that a bridge between the local students and the hotels is needed, and we at Tamani are happy to be that bridge.

One fun fact is that one of our students got a job offer there and then – talking about a good match! We will keep having these events to help out the local people and the hotels to find each other.
